Right in the middle before you even leave

The Spain Set: every place on this page as a family quiz for the dinner table, with voice and aha facts.

When to go where in Spain

Winter: Canaries. Easter and Whitsun: Mallorca, Andalusia, Barcelona. Summer: the north, windy islands, cities only early and late. Autumn: Mallorca and mainland, warm sea, empty beaches. Spain has a corner for every school holiday.

Getting there
Flights from all German airports, Canaries four hours, the rest two to three. A rental car pays off on the islands, not in cities.
Money and papers
Euro, EU health card, an ID card is enough. Cards accepted everywhere, even for coffee.
With kids
Children are welcome, high chairs exist, changing tables less so. Sunscreen and a midday break are the most important rules.
